The area surrounding the apartment: The Gaia apartment is located right in the heart of Rome historical centre, just behind Piazza Navona, one of the most famous and arguably the most beautiful squares of the eternal city. The piazza, unspoiled by new building or traffic, is today one of the best places to see Baroque architecture in Rome. Its oval shape results from the ruins of the Stadium of Domitian, lying underneath. Navona square is also one of the most frequented place in Rome where both locals and tourists like to hang out even till late in the night thanks to the numerous outdoor cafés, restaurants and piano-bars. It is extremely pleasant just to sit on a cool stone bench and watch the world go by. Then join a table in one of the cafès that face onto the square and pep up your senses with an espresso or a cappuccino, while the locals shop and the street musicians capture the tourists.
